Tun must set up Gerakan Pejuang Nasional (GPN) asap to burry BN, Muhyiddin must stand down

It is hoped that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will abandon his premiership ambitions and work together with “The Rakyat’s Council,” bringing together PEJUANG, WARISAN, BERSATU, PAS, Gerakan and PIAGAM RAKYAT under a new banner, i.e. GERAKAN PEJUANG NASIONAL. Source (pic): TTF Files

The recently concluded Johor state election has proven one thing – people are looking for a definite solution to the senseless and endless bickering among politicians and will seek out any coalition that can guarantee stability.

The election suggests that those who did not come out to vote – comprising close to half of the voting population – were either dissatisfied or disillusioned with the “alternative parties” for failing to bring about a coalition that could tame Barisan Nasional.

Yes, people may be fed up with 1MDB, UMNO, the court cluster and all that jazz, but they would rather stay at home than vote for parties that cannot guarantee them stability.

To the simple minded Malaysian, it does not matter which Pakatan Harapan component party did what or which group of Pakatan Harapan Members of Parliament (MPs) abandoned the coalition.

What matters, is that Pakatan Harapan betrayed the people’s trust by failing to keep itself intact, causing Barisan Nasional to take advantage of the situation and collapse a government the majority of Malaysians wanted.

Common sense dictates that if one were to seek a brand new alternative to replace both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, one must now ensure that the alternative is as diverse, trustworthy and well received by the majority.

This is where PEJUANG and WARISAN failed.

People in Johor were probably hoping that PEJUANG and WARISAN would present a “new lease of confidence” by serving as precursors to a larger, more consolidated Third Force bloc ahead of the 15th general election.

But alas, not only did the duo fail to team up, MUDA confused voters when its president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, forged an alliance with Pakatan Harapan, the very Pakatan Harapan that betrayed the people’s trust.

This confusion was further compounded when Saddiq, once known to be a staunch supporter of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, began rubbing shoulders with the latter’s arch rival, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry knows that Anwar caused PPBM MPs to jump ship and betray Pakatan Harapan, and everyone knows that MPs from Anwar’s own party colluded with PPBM to collapse government.

Surely voters would have been confused with Saddiq’s choice of an ally, and the fact that PEJUANG failed to properly address this ahead of the Johor state election gave rise to endless speculation, causing voters to believe that PEJUANG did not have what was necessary to consolidate a Third Force Bloc.

Time is of essence.

To say that the DAP, AMANAH, PEJUANG, WARISAN and MUDA can come together as a Third Force Bloc to regain the people’s trust and prevent Barisan Nasional from winning the 15th general election is wishful thinking.

The general election is around the corner, and if anyone is going to come up with a plausible solution to what may now be the “Third Force conundrum,” he (or she) had better include a new “wow factor” and set aside his (or her) ego.

At the end of the day, what the majority of Malaysians must be made to see clearly is as follows;

1. that The Third Force Bloc can and will bring about political stability, based solely upon its composition, representation and the sincerity of all concerned

2. that The Third Force Bloc has a council of advisers who are well known and well received by the Malays and non-Malays alike, such that the council can guide a new generation of leaders to lead both the bloc and the country

3. that The Third Force Bloc can outdo any other Malay party or coalition in bringing about “penyatuan ummah”

4. that The Third Force Bloc can outperform any other party or coalition in uniting the Malays, Chinese and Indians, among others.

It follows, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should consider teaming up with Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, Tun Daim Zainuddin and “various people of prominence who advocate the supremacy of technical and legal expertise,” under the banner of “The Rakyat’s Council.”

This should happen in the nearest time possible.
