Lim Guan Eng probably holds the world record for being the most talkative government minister and has issued more press statements and held more press conferences than all previous Ministers of Finance combined.
Every now and then, he will have something to say about what the previous government did wrong or why the economy is doing badly, when in fact, it is the person he supports as the next Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who scared off investors with unrelenting calls for a “smooth power transition.”
Guan Eng himself contributed to the massive outflow of precious foreign investment dollars as investors became cautious seeing that some of the information and figures he was broadcasting in public were either stylised or heavily exaggerated.
If it was not the economy, it had something to do with race and religion. There were times when Lim was so racist and anti-Islam, one wondered how a seemingly educated Chinaman like him could end up being such a bigoted fanatic.
And now, when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has decided that enough is enough, it is LIM who is leading an effort by the DAP to cajole the elder statesman into returning to Pakatan Harapan.
Seriously, can someone please tell this Guan Eng fella to shut up and wait for Mahathir’s next move?
