TTF: The police have identified the owner of a Facebook page who posted caricatures deemed insulting to Islam, claims Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (see news item below).
Yesterday, TTF posted a screen capture of a posting by Foo Sing Wai from Kuala Lumpur who insulted Muslims by posting a cartoon depicting a nude Prophet Muhammad next to an underage Ā’ishah bint Abī Bakr (Aisha), one of Muhammad’s wife (see picture below).
Foo implied that Muhammad was a pedophile who lured an underage Aisha into having sex with him.
PUTRAJAYA: The police have identified the owner of a Facebook page who posted caricatures deemed insulting to Islam.
Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had received information from the Inspector-General of Police that the person concerned had been identified.
“Police have yet to question the individual but will carry out investigations,” Muhyiddin said when asked on the multiple police reports that had been lodged against the individual.
Muhyiddin said the public had been advised to be sensitive when posting on their social media space to ensure they did not put up anything that could be deemed insulting to religion or the King.
“Police will now act as there have reports lodged against this person,” he said after attending Rela’s 47th anniversary on Tuesday (Feb 19).
