MIC president S A Vigneswaran today challenged Umno Supreme Council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi to ask his party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi about the latter’s purported backing for Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.

Speaking to FMT, Vigneswaran asked: “Who’s the one that’s hasty? Who’s the one that sent a letter to the Agong in support of Anwar? If he’s bold enough, before he calls us hasty, he should ask his president who was the one that sent a letter to the Agong supporting Anwar as prime minister.”

Vigneswaran said: “Ask him who decided (to support Anwar). Was it Barisan Nasional’s or Umno’s decision? If it was neither, then whose decision was it?”

Vigneswaran said the MIC’s decision to continue supporting Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration until Parliament was dissolved was no different from Umno’s stand on the matter.
