Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is reportedly at the Istana Negara and may have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today.
Elsewhere, Free Malaysia Today boldly claimed that several Ministers have cleared their official schedules for the coming week while others have tidied up their desks in their respective ministries in anticipation of a major Cabinet reshuffle.
True or not, the narrative by the news portal suggests that Mahathir is on a mission to form a new government comprising representatives from both the opposition and the present ruling coalition.
However, TTF is made to understand that the mission isn’t merely to reshuffle the existing government, but to collapse Pakatan Harapan in its entirety and to have it replaced with a new coalition with a two thirds representation in Parliament.
PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is reportedly at the Istana Negara and may have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today.
Earlier, Mahathir chaired a near six-hour long Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) meeting at the Yayasan Selangor building, the outcome of which is expected to impact the Pakatan Harapan administration.
TTF is made to understand that Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal and other political leaders flew in from Sabah and Sarawak to Putrajaya amid speculation that the Pakatan Harapan led government could fall tonight, possibly even tomorrow.
As far as East Malaysia is concerned, both WARISAN and GPS have since pledged full support for Mahathir’s leadership of a new federal government.

However, TTF is made to understand that the mission isn’t merely to reshuffle the existing government, but to collapse Pakatan Harapan in its entirety and to have it replaced with a new coalition bearing a two thirds representation in Parliament.
It is entirely possible that this will be accomplished in stages, first, by forming a new government with mixed representation before collapsing Pakatan Harapan to form a new ruling coalition.
It is left to be seen which is the case.
