Leaked audio: Gobind admits Pakatan Harapan never fixed deadline for Mahathir’s exit, proving DAP’s hypocrisy

Gobind’s testimony reeks of irony, as the DAP stood silent when Anwar himself claimed that a “signed agreement” that had details of a transition plan existed. Source (pic): TTF Files

A leaked audio clip purporting to contain conversations of those involved in the heated Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting, held on the 21st of February 2020, has revealed some shocking details.

Earlier, in a separate article, TTF quoted a report by Free Malaysia Today which exposed the resistance posed by three Pakatan Harapan ministers towards a proposal to choose Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s successor in government via parliament.

The same report also reveals an exchange between DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo and PPBM’s Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, where Gobind reportedly admitted that during the 14th general election, Pakatan Harapan did not fix a timeline for Mahathir’s exit.

Gobind’s position reeks of irony, given that the DAP never once admitted this back when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s supporters kept hounding Mahathir, insisting that Pakatan Harapan had agreed to a “two-year exit plan” prior to the 14th general election.

PETALING JAYA: A leaked audio clip purporting to contain conversations of those involved in the heated Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting, held on the 21st of February 2020, has revealed some shocking details.

Earlier, in a separate article, TTF quoted a report by Free Malaysia Today which exposed the resistance posed by three Pakatan Harapan ministers towards a proposal to choose Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s successor in government via parliament.

According to the report, the three were PKR leaders Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution and Xavier Jayakumar and Amanah number two, Khalid Samad, all of whom are stunch loyalists of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. At the election, we didn’t fix the time, but after that we stated a time. You want to see the videos,” asked Gobind, who was responding to a statement by Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

Gobind at this point was interrupted by PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who recalled a PH agreement giving full confidence to Mahathir in deciding when to step down.

“Why do you get so emotional?” Gobind reportedly said, adding that he was also answerable to his party supporters.

Gobind’s position reeks of irony, given that the DAP never once admitted this back when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s supporters kept hounding Mahathir, insisting that Pakatan Harapan had agreed to a “two-year exit plan” prior to the 14th general election.

As a matter of fact, the DAP stood silent when Anwar himself claimed that a “signed agreement” that had details of a transition plan existed.

Several PPBM leaders denied the existence of such an agreement, while TTF challenged Anwar to produce it if indeed it existed.

But all Lim Kit Siang did was to threaten the people with his ‘resignation’ if Mahathir failed to make way for Anwar to take over as Prime Minister.
