Former Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad has fingered a ‘middleman’ who he claims misused the name of his aide, Hj Azli, resulting in Azli’s arrest by the police.
In a shocking twist, Khalid said an architect firm had been given a fake DO (development order) by a broker who received millions as a result.
Khalid refused to elaborate further, citing the fact that the case is still under investigation and that the broker, who he did not name, is being investigated as well.
“The broker gets rich, but the person whose name was abused gets victimised. The belief that ‘cash is king’ allowed the broker to succeed.”
PETALING JAYA: Former Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad has fingered a ‘middleman’ who he claims misused the name of his aide, Hj Azli, resulting in Azli’s arrest by the police.
In a shocking twist, Khalid said an architect firm had been given a fake DO (development order) by a broker who received millions as a result.
“I was told that the ‘broker’ received millions of ringgit by selling his (Azli’s) name,” Khalid said.
It has been put to TTF that the police obtained a remand order for Azli’s detention, though TTF is still in the midst of verifying this.
Khalid refused to elaborate further, citing the fact that the case is still under investigation and that the broker, who he did not name, is being investigated as well.
“The broker gets rich, but the person whose name was abused gets victimised,” he said.
“The belief that ‘cash is king’ allowed the broker to succeed.”
It is understood that Bukit Aman launched an investigation into allegations of bribery involving several individuals related to the case.
