According to a report, Anwar, who met Mahathir earlier today, described the meeting as “very good” and said he was impressed by the Prime Minister’s attitude and stand on the issue of the possible realignment of government.
However, Anwar does not seem to be sincere as he had not met his deputy in PKR, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, before the party undertook to sack the latter and Zuraida Kamaruddin for their alleged ‘open betrayal’ towards the party.
Meanwhile, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng who also met Mahathir this morning said the meeting was “very emotional”.
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is said to have met Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at his residence earlier today.

However, Anwar does not seem to be sincere as he had not met his deputy in PKR, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, before the party undertook to sack the latter and Zuraida Kamaruddin for their alleged ‘open betrayal’ towards the party.
Azmin and Zuraida have openly declared their allegiance towards Mahathir and censured Anwar for his lack of leadership in PKR.
Anwar had also consistently been hounding Mahathir on the issue of power transition to the point that it affected the smooth running of government and hurt the economy as investors became wary of a possible political explosion.
Meanwhile, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng who also met Mahathir this morning said the meeting was “very emotional”.
Guan Eng said this before attending an emergency DAP meeting which likely discussed the latest turn of events at length.
Earlier today, Anwar and several PH leaders had gone to the Prime Minister’s Office hoping to meet Mahathir, only to find that the prime minister was not around.
They then left an hour later, heading to the prime minister’s residence.
