Subang Umno fears its chief, Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, will be sacked or suspended from the party when he meets its disciplinary board tomorrow.
The division’s information chief Razman Rahim said he suspected that Armand was summoned over his alleged involvement in money politics, although Armand was not informed as to why he had to attend the 3pm meeting.
Armand, who plans to contest the Umno Youth chief position against Jasin Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh and Umno Youth secretary-general Hasmuni Hassan, will have to shelve those plans if he is suspended or sacked.
Last month, Umno booted out former Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar for breaching party discipline during GE15. Umno also suspended former information chief Shahril Hamdan, former vice-president and Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein, ex-Jempol MP Salim Sharif and Tebrau Umno leader Maulizan Bujang for six years.

“Rumours about Armand being involved in money politics have been circulating on social media,” Razman told a press conference here.
Meanwhile, Subang Umno secretary Yusof Sani hoped for a fair hearing for Armand at the meeting.
“It would be a loss for Umno if Armand is sacked or suspended as he has contributed a lot to the party,” he said.

Previously, FMT reported that more Umno members not aligned to party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi might be suspended as the battle for the post of Umno Youth chief took shape.
Umno’s elections are being held from Feb 1-March 18. Branch-level elections are being held from Feb 1-26, followed by the elections for the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings at the national level on March 11.
The divisional elections as well as contests for seats on the Umno Supreme Council will be held on March 18.
