If indeed Mahathir is willing to risk ‘weakening’ Azmin, you can be damned sure the following about the Prime Minister is true:
1. HE wants you to think Anwar was responsible for the sex scandal.
2. He wants Anwar to think that he (Mahathir) is finished now that his man, Azmin, is ‘finished’.
3. He wants Anwar to get overconfident and launch an all-out war thinking that it’s game over for him (Mahathir).
4. He has a definite plan to finish Anwar off for good which Anwar himself can’t see.
TANJUNG MALIM: The idea of digging out old pictures as ‘evidence’ to link someone to a conspiracy took centre stage in Malaysian politics prior to the 14thgeneral election.
Back then, the DAP espoused gutter politicking and taught its partners new ways to assassinate political characters.
They did it to destroy the reputations of Barisan National politicians. Today, they’re doing it to give certain cabals in Pakatan Harapan linked to them absolute power.
I had this conversation with a government linked group insisting that the latest sex scandal involving Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali and Muhammad Haziq Abdullah was an “Anwar job.”
The group gave me a hundred and one reasons why it had to be Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and why it made no sense whatsoever for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to want to “kill off” Azmin.
“You saw how Mahathir defended Azmin. You yourself said Anwar did not deny that the person in the video was Azmin.
“So why would Mahathir want to kill-off the man who could help him defeat Anwar?”
The above was written with permission, of course. I made it clear that if indeed Mahathir was behind the sex scandal, the motive would never be to kill Azmin off, but to weaken him.
The purpose would be to ensure that should Mahathir ever deicide to step down, Azmin would need people who’re willing to ‘vouch’ for him to be around him in government.
It follows, that the PKR deputy president would not hesitate to appoint Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir as his deputy and Tun Daim Zainuddin as Minister of Finance.

So here’s the thing – I’m not saying it’s this or that, but don’t be too sure Mahathir isn’t behind the expose.
All we have thus far are picture ‘evidences’ purporting this guy to be Azmin’s friend and that guy to be Haziq’s accomplice and what have you.
Truth is, none of these ‘evidences’ make any sense whatsoever apart from their role in rubbishing denials by individuals who claim not to know one another.
For instance, when Azmin said he did not know Haziq or barely knew him, he lied, as the two were pictured together on multiple occasions under circumstances that required them to know one another relatively well.
Beyond that, it’s a jungle full of conspiracy theories we can neither brush off nor accept wholeheartedly.
If indeed Mahathir is behind the sex scandal, you can bet your last dollar he’d have done his homework, bought off a couple of Anwar’s people and gotten his men to spread the word that Anwar was behind it.
Likewise, if all this is Anwar’s doing, he too would have bought off a couple of Mahathir’s men and gotten his own people to point their fingers at the old man.
At the end of the day, a good conspirator would pull off every trick in the book to prevent himself (or herself) from being implicated.
And knowing how Malaysians are suckers for pictorial ‘evidences’, Mahathir and his men would have made absolutely certain that there was ample ‘evidence’ to imply Haziq’s link to Anwar, Rafizi Ramli and Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Oops…did they miss out the one with Wan Azizah?
