“In 2019, Kit Siang asked the police to investigate people who threatened unrest, right after his own son incited religious hatred by falsely alleging that UMNO’s and PAS’ “extremist religious philosophies” prohibited Christians from congregating for prayers. And today, he is in bed with UMNO”

I have long held the opinion that Lim Kit Siang is a thoroughbred racist and harbours an Islamophobic agenda.
December last year, the senior Lim attributed the surge in support for Perikatan Nasional during the 15th general election to a PAS “green wave,” urging Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to avoid the country’s democracy from being hijacked by politics of “lies, fear, hate, race, and religion.”
However, soon after the plea, it was Kit Siang who began injecting race, religion and fear based politics in Malaysia.
In an article published on the 9th of December 2022, Kit Siang wrote:
“IS there an irresistible “green tide” phenomenon in Malaysia that will transform the country into a complete Islamic state by 2032 when we go to the polls again for the 17th General Election (GE17)?
“Such is the view of some political analysts who see Malaysia inexorably heading in that direction.“
Is this not called race, religion and fear based politics?
Why link the democratic right of voters to support Perikatan Nasional to the possibility that the country could be transformed into a complete Islamic?

What incentive is there for anyone to ditch Perikatan Nasional and support the DAP if the DAP is itself making extremist and racist claims bordering on Islamophobia?
I still remember what transpired in the lead up to the November 2019 Tanjung Piai by election, called following the death of incumbent Md Farid Md Rafik on the 21st of September 2019.
Back then, Kit Siang’s son, Lim Guan Eng, told a DAP congregation in Muar, Johor that a vote for the MCA was akin to a vote for UMNO’s and PAS’ “extremist religious philosophies” which prohibited Christians from congregating for prayers.
I immediately lodged a police report against Guan Eng and was made to understand that the police filed the case under Section 502 (c) of the Penal Code.
What struck me as weird was the fact that Kit Siang came right out after the by election to seek police investigations into cases where people threatened unrest.
Was Guan Eng’s statement not a threat?
Is this not similar to what happened in December 2022?
Back then, after having cautioned Anwar on the need to stop politics of “lies, fear, hate, race, and religion,” Kit Siang himself injected some race, religion and fear overtones in an article he wrote.
In 2019, Kit Siang asked the police to investigate people who threatened unrest, right after his own son had incited religious hatred in a way that could have triggered unrest.
And today, he is in bed with UMNO.
Cakap tak serupa bikin, anyone?
