Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has a lot on his plate, and none of it has to do with fortune cookies or fortune messages that read, “cool it dude, the war is not over.”
It’s over.
As a matter of fact, it was over the minute Muhyiddin betrayed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad by staging a coup of sorts, colluding with the very Kleptocrats he swore to destroy, just to get himself appointed Prime Minister.
If that wasn’t enough to piss voters off, Muhyiddin went on to declare a state of Emergency when it became clear that his majority was lacking, and hijacked democracy in the process by refusing to allow parliament to sit.
Basically, it was the act of an illegal Prime Minister refusing to allow his majority to be tested and using the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s name to rule the country like a King.
Along the way, he had a gala time with his cohorts from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia – a party he hijacked unceremoniously by booting Mahathir out using jungle laws – who helped him destabilise the Sabah state government, plunging the state into an election.
It was this election that wrecked havoc upon the country due to the wanton disregard for established pandemic SOPs by power hungry Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional politicians, travelling to and fro Sabah to campaign as if there was no tomorrow.
The campaign managed to soar Covid-19 cases sky high in the months that followed, forcing government to initiate fresh lockdown measures that resulted in hundreds upon thousands of small and medium scale businesses going bust and millions of Malaysians suffering reduced income.
But Muhyiddin never blamed himself or his ministers.
Instead, he blamed the rakyat for not adhering to SOPs and turned a deaf ear when it was revealed that the half-past-six lockdown measures he put in place made no sense whatsoever, apart from burdening the already burdened rakyat further.
People simply got pissed and wanted him gone.
And when it was time for him to go, he had the cheek to say that he would never collude with the Court Cluster, when in fact, it was his collusion with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that brought him to power in the first place.
The people have spoken.
Yesterday, in Melaka, Muhyiddin’s PPBM got slaughtered big time along with PAS, and I’ll bet my last dollar that he is contemplating the possibility of PPBM returning to Pakatan Harapan.
It is crystal clear that the 15th general election is going to be about The Third Force vs Barisan Nasional, given that voters practically wiped out Pakatan Harapan in Melaka, sending a clear message that” if anyone has anything to offer, it had better be fresh, or we are sticking with status quo.”
