Former Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali reiterated the undivided support to the leadership of Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Mohamed Azmin, who had been sacked from PKR yesterday, said the absolute support had been expressed behind closed door meetings and in the open without specifying the party he was referring to.

Mohamed Azmin also said together with other members of parliament (MPs), they were waiting for their turn to see the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the palace.

He also said steps that were taken had developed “positively and convincingly” without going into details.


KUALA LUMPUR: Former Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali reiterated the undivided support to the leadership of Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Mohamed Azmin, who had been sacked from PKR yesterday, said the absolute support had been expressed behind closed door meetings and in the open without specifying the party he was referring to.




On his Instagram @azmin_ali, he said the support towards Dr Mahathir was based on the aspiration of the people.

“The rakyat wanted a stable government, a strong unity and focus on efforts to revive the economy as well as to spur its growth,” he said in the post that was uploaded at about 2pm today.

He said there was no doubt on the mandate given by the rakyat after the 14th General Election (GE14).

“Our group comprises people of various races and faiths who prioritise on being empathetic towards different races, religion and culture,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin also said together with other members of parliament (MPs), they were waiting for their turn to see the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the palace.

He also said steps that were taken had developed “positively and convincingly” without going into details.

“We are in the midst of addressing related issues in stages,” he added.

Mohamed Azmin was sacked together with former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin, from the party. Following the sacking, nine other PKR MPs also quit the party to form an independent bloc in Parliament.
